How many times do we feel the need to indulge in self-help for the upcoming New Year? Ads such as New Year’s new you, or how to lose weight and keep it off? Have you ever considered that your energy field could use this same attention? Did you know that our human and lighted bodies have their own unique energies and that our lighted self needs the same attention as our physical self?
First, let’s start with human energy as defined by the great Albert Einstein. Einstein established the “Law of Conservation of Mass-Energy”. This law states that “energy is neither created nor destroyed, it changes from one form of energy into another form”. All humans are made of energy due to our biological makeup. The physical body is made of cells, which consist of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen. These elements possess an energy that fuels our physical self.
Our lighted self is also filled with energy. The engine to our higher, lighter self does not originate from our human cells but rather our “chakras.” Chakras are the spiritual energy found in the center of our human body. There are seven different energy centers found in our lighted self that emit energy. This energy released from our chakras moves through our human bodies’ perimeter and creates the energy field we refer to as one’s “aura”.
Our aura is a component of the lighted realm and can remain snug to the human body’s outline or extend for many feet even meters past our physical selves. Our lighted energy field can impact our physical well-being too. When our lighted energy moves into the space beyond our bodies, we collect other’s energy and residue.
This extension of lighted energy is all around us, the abundance of other’s energy, positive, neutral, or negative can impact our physical self if not recognized.
Scenarios of Collecting Negative Energy:
- Complaining from a family member about you or other relatives
- Picking up despair from a friend who is working through difficult challenges
- Hearing a co-worker criticize others and look to you to defend their view
- Driving and collecting vented anger of others while in traffic!
How does this collected negative energy feel? Depending on a person’s sensitivity to adverse energy it can range from “uncomfortable” to varying levels of stress if not addressed. The higher ranges could include overwhelming feelings of exhaustion both mentally and physically, leading to higher levels of stress in the body,
Our human emotions react positively with logical mindfulness such as self-love and dialogue but have you ever given thought to “lighted mindfulness”? Giving your lighted self the same attention? A cloudy aura needs the same nourishment as our human form for it to grow strong. So how can we give our energy field a new healthy regime for 2024?
Step1: Clean your Aura
Just as our human self needs to be kept clean and charged so does our lighted self! Here are some human and/or psychic activities to do when clearing the congestion that adverse energy can cause.
Scenario: Complaining from a family member about you or other relatives. You are very aware of the heaviness of this encounter and feel its effects linger even after physically leaving their company. You need to place a boundary or marker between their negativeness and you.
Human Exercise: Use your words or thoughts to reignite your lighted energy fields called chakras.
Say: Chakras Open, Cleanse, Balance, Align~ NOW and remove that lingering energy.
Psychic Exercise: Try envisioning a scissor, name that negative energy, and cut it so that it can not enter your energy field any longer. This is often referred to as “cutting the cords” that do not serve you.
Step 2: Protect your Aura
Now that the congestion has been cleansed, the next step is to protect this field. Here are some helpful activities you can use.

Human Exercise: Create physical space between yourself and this family member. This strong intent of not wanting proximity will also speak to your energy field and not allow their energy close enough to collect and feel that heaviness. Our auras extend and retract as we direct them with our lighted intent.
Psychic Exercise: If this human exercise speaks to you, consider moving deeper with your psychic senses. Envision more powerful protection in addition to the physical space you have created. Build a wall!! That’s right, decide what your wall will be made of. Maybe it will be made of concrete or titanium. What material strength speaks to you? Build yourself an impermeable wall keeping all of those destructive thoughts away from your energy field.
Once you have worked on cleaning and protecting your energy field, you will protect yourself by placing energy boundaries that they can not extend into.
Step 3: Nuture your Aura
Just as we must nurture our human bodies with healthy food and exercise, so too should we illuminate an additional regime as part of our well-being. Preservation of a smooth running energy field is the final step of lighted mindfulness.
Moving through steps 1 and 2 can be work and understanding how your body and light feel when heavy with negative energy is very important. Once you work at finding the inner harmony of releasing the energies that don’t serve you, the final step is maintaining that feeling. Ground yourself often.
The word itself is its meaning. When you feel a heaviness that can’t be explained, work at bringing your actions or thinking back down to the physical realm. Do not allow it to keep rising to a level that can become difficult to manage. “Grounding” is essential. The act of grounding moves your energy back to the Earth and the natural world.
Human Exercise: Drink water! Walk barefoot in the grass! Hug a Tree! Take a walk! Nurturing your light can be a personal journey. What speaks to you? Self-love and dialogue are also an example of how our human mind can help alleviate the negativeness that does not serve our mental or physical health.
Psychic Exercise: Create a peaceful location in your thoughts to move to, one of comfort and warmth. An ocean oasis where you see yourself floating in the calm sea or taking a hike surrounded by beautiful sunshine and trees in abundance. Building your happy place where you can ground down and recharge your light!
As a spiritual medium, I am no stranger to all types of energies and personally use these exercises when the need arises. When doing lighted work, my energy field must be fully open to channel messages from the other side which can be physically draining. I am also human and experience many of the scenarios outlined earlier as well. Even positive and neutral energy can become heavy as it layers over and over without mindfulness.
Let me illustrate a very ordinary personal scenario I had during a recent family get-together. There were approximately 20 people in attendance, some related some not. All move in and out of conversation, with no difficult personalities or situations presenting themself.
Before my lighted mindfulness and not fully understanding energy fields and what their wing span collects, I used to go into this space unprotected. It wouldn’t take long for me to become jittery, almost wanting to jump out of my human skin and leave abruptly not understanding why. That “unexplainable” feeling is very much a strong indicator that lighted mindfulness is needed.
Now knowing that my energy field naturally extends many meters which easily fills a room full of people. For many years now, I have reminded myself to cleanse and protect before moving into this open energetic family environment.
Before moving to this recent gathering, I completed steps 1 and 2. I used the cleansing chanting words: open, cleanse, balance, and align. Now, I am in coordination with psychically seeing a giant spinning vortex around me cutting all chords that don’t belong to me. The vortex that I create is also part of my spiritual toolbox that pulls my aura in tight at the same time, which insulates me from others.
Even with the deepest of positive intentions to not absorb others’ energies, we do. What is always the most nurturing action for me to give myself when this occurs is to ground with nature. My peace is found when walking on a trail with lots of trees, ensuring no humans are in sight! I choose a location with no humans because I direct my aura to extend through the trees. This is when it is just my energy boundless in all directions. For me, allowing the full flex of these energetic muscles sings to me. I give myself to the trees and truly feel renewed.
So as you inch towards the human new year, new you saga…consider walking hand in hand and build your staircase of a lighter you. Lean in towards understanding how your 7 chakras fuel your psychic energy that emits your aura. Let this be a stair on your staircase to lighted mindfulness. This one step can be all that your lighter self needs right now. If that step is your final destination, you have found lighted mindfulness.
So as we move towards the close of 2023 and open to a new year. May your light move towards that which builds positive resolutions for a new “lighted” you!
